Art Chapel

The Art Chapel

“Our sense of beauty and our creativity are central to what it means to be made in the image of a creative God.” -Makoto Fujimura, Culture Care

At F Street Church, we’re developing the Art Chapel to give our neighborhood a place for community and creativity. The Art Chapel will provide our neighbors the chance to receive art instruction at a low cost in a safe and caring environment and to show their work to the public. It’s our desire that strong friendships will take root at The Art Chapel as local creatives find a place of belonging.

F Street’s property includes the very first church building in Lincoln, Nebraska. Built in 1873, our chapel has stood empty for years. In collaboration with students at the University of Nebraska College of Architecture, we seek to preserve and transform the structure into a community art studio. The Art Chapel will be a beautiful and functional presence in our neighborhood.

Will you help?

We need your investment. Our budget for the project is $120,000, and God has generously provided over half of that already. We welcome your gift of good quality art supplies. You can also help with this project by praying; our ministry can’t succeed without God’s favor.

You can send your gift to:  F Street Neighborhood Church, 1302 F Street, Lincoln, NE  68508 (Make sure you indicate it’s for the Art Chapel.)
